Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features more news from Oklahoma, where hot on the heels of the Senate’s full 44-0 approval of a new Workers’ Compensation bill, State Representative Joe Dorman has announced that he plans to propose an interim study to determine the feasibility of creating two separate workers’ compensation systems in the state.
Rep. Dorman said “A constituent of mine, who moved to Oklahoma from Massachusetts, told me about how Massachusetts has two separate workers’ compensation systems” and then elaborated on his plan to investigate the possibility of having separate systems for “high-risk” employees in public service (firefighters, police, etc), and one that would cover the majority of workers and could be “fine tuned” to attract business to the state.
