Association Selects JI Companies to Administer Risk Pool

March 1, 2011 - WorkCompWire

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Lincoln, Nebraska-based League of Nebraska Municipalities (LONM) and the League Association of Risk Management (LARM) selected JI Companies, an Austin-based Risk Management and Workers’ Compensation services company, to serve as the new program administrator for LARM. JI will be responsible for underwriting and rating, policy issuance, policyholder services, claims administration and claims handling, accounting and financial services, marketing / sales and membership field services, reinsurance placement, and program management services. JI will provide more than 15 FTEs, including nine dedicated professionals, in Austin and Lincoln to service this account.

“We are impressed with the association-based pool experience JI brings to the table. The LARM program was created for, and is run by, public entities—having prior experience in that area is key in our governmental environment.”
LONM founded LARM, an intergovernmental risk pool, in 1995 to provide a long-term, stable, cost-effective risk management alternative for members of the League of Nebraska Municipalities. LARM provides workers’ compensation, general, automobile, errors & omissions, law enforcement and excess liability, as well as automobile physical damage, property, inland marine, and boiler and machinery coverages for its Nebraska member cities.

“JI’s team provides the tools and capabilities we need to take the LARM program to a new level,” offered Michael Nolan, LARM Executive Director. “The pool is the source for custom tailored coverages and services for cities and villages in Nebraska. With JI’s help, expanding our service offerings and improving core services, we will continue to be the market leader.”

Lynn Rex, LONM Executive Director, said, “We are impressed with the association-based pool experience JI brings to the table. The LARM program was created for, and is run by, public entities—having prior experience in that area is key in our governmental environment.”

“Though we already provide management and administrative services to multiple pool clients, the LARM program is energizing for JI,” said Francis Fey, JI’s CEO / President. “In addition to our depth of talent, we bring to them a new level of online claim systems, with all claim details viewable and all documentation fully imaged. This includes online claim submission and full online reports. We are also facilitating a fresh approach to customizing coverages and improved pricing strategies to continue to expand the program. The expanded risk management, loss control / safety and training offerings will be attractive to all sizes of municipalities,” he added.
