eBilling & Bill Passing…

February 13, 2011 - WorkCompWire

Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features news of the adoption of Amendments to eBilling requirements by Texas’ Comissioner of Workers Comp, Rod Bordelon. The amendments seek to align billing for Workers’ Compensation more closely with the billing requirements and standards adopted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The new rules also clarify the field requirements for paper bills submitted by providers who are exempt from electronic submission.

Also of note in weekend news was the Missouri House of Representatives’ passage of a bill that reforms Workers’ Compensation issues related to occupational illnesses and co-worker lawsuits. Readers may recall that earlier this year a coalition of business leaders in Missouri was pushing the reforms as part of a larger agenda called “Fix the Six”, which was aimed at making Missouri’s economy more “business friendly”. The bill will now move on to the Senate for debate.
