Jefferson City – The Missouri House gave final approval Thursday to legislation that would clarify that occupational diseases are covered by the workers’ compensation system.
The bill also would prohibit employees from filing lawsuits against their co-workers for injuries that qualify under the workers’ compensation system.
Commentary also included the perspective that the passage of the bill was also about creating a business friendly environment in Missouri.
Readers may also recall that these reforms were part of a list of requests from business leaders that was called “Fix the Six”.
