FALLS CHURCH, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that the U.S. Department of Labor awarded the company a contract to implement and operate the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs’ Central Bill Process (CBP) service. The contract, which was awarded during CSC’s fiscal 2011 second quarter, has a seven-year period of performance and an estimated total value of $143 million.
“By leveraging our government and commercial experience in information technology infrastructure and health services, CSC will provide the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs with services that facilitate the timely and accurate processing of medical bills.”
Under the terms of the contract, CSC will provide services to process medical bills, facilitate prior authorization of services, respond to inquiries related to medical benefits through a call center and service oriented architecture-based systems, and implement a fraud and abuse detection program.
