Implantable Provider Group Adds Experienced Professionals to Leadership Team

December 19, 2010 - WorkCompWire

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Implantable Provider Group (IPG), a leading nationwide provider of implantable device management solutions, has added two professionals with extensive health care industry experience to its leadership team. Marty Smith joins IPG as chief information officer (CIO), where he will be responsible for expanding the company’s technology capabilities to support future customer acquisition and integration initiatives. Mary Kay Gilbert has been named IPG’s vice president of operations to lead the case management and logistics teams and maintain the company’s high level of customer service.

“Enabling technologies and world-class customer service are critical capabilities to our success, which is why I am so pleased to have Marty and Mary Kay on board,” said Jay Ethridge, chief executive officer of IPG. “They are both highly qualified professionals with experience handling the challenges that are unique to high-growth companies like ours. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business.”

Over his successful career, Smith has created technology strategies for multiple high-growth ventures including ChoicePoint, Home Depot and TheraTx. As CIO of ChoicePoint, Smith presided over a technology strategy that supported millions of insurance, public record, background and drug-screening inquiries per day. Smith was also part of the leadership team in the technology department at The Home Depot during their highest growth years. He helped create the infrastructure that supported the company during a time when it opened a new store every 23 hours, hired 400 people per day and handled over 1,000 register transactions per second. At TheraTx, a respiratory therapy management company, Smith created the technology infrastructure to support more than 700 clinics nationwide by charting nearly 10,000 patient visits per day.

Gilbert is a highly accomplished operations executive who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to IPG. She began her career in the financial services industry running operations during the start-up and business acceleration phases of AT&T Universal Card and later moved to The Walt Disney Company where she had responsibility for all travel operations and sales. Additionally, Gilbert has experience in the health care arena for nearly a decade, beginning with CompBenefits, and subsequently with Coventry Healthcare. Most recently, Gilbert was in charge of the Georgia operations of APS Healthcare, a Medicaid disease management company.
