Is it a Trend or a Coincidence?

November 16, 2010 - WorkCompWire

Last week one of the editions of our WorkCompRecap acknowledged two news stories describing recently launched programs that separately integrated the two main benefit components of workers’ compensation; medical and disability.

Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap has two more stories around the related topics of “presenteeism” and the importance of employee “productivity”.  That is four newsworthy stories in less than a week……….

Last weeks comments on benefit “integration” prompted several readers to write and ask; “is this the rebirth of the 24 Hour Care movement?”

Since I still have occasional flashbacks to those “interesting” times, I assured the inquirers that I don’t think we will see the true “24 hour care” model (integrating the medical and disability benefits for both occupational and non-occupational benefits) anytime soon.

However, as we gradually pull ourselves out of this difficult recession, I do believe innovative companies in competitive markets will explore and launch new products that will integrate some of these similar and slowly converging benefits.

Read the stories below and then visit WorkCompWire today to decide;
Is it a Trend or a Coincidence?

We look forward to becoming your trusted source for timely news and information related to all facets of the Workers’ Compensation industry.

Have a good week.
