NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NYS Superintendent James J. According to Donald T. DeCarlo, AMCOMP Chairman/President & Founder, “This is our first conference in Ireland focusing on Insurance Law & Regulation Worldwide. Providing a forum of exchange allows both US and European delegates an opportunity to openly compare and contrast the workers comp and employers liability systems.” DeCarlo continued, “With the European market heavily involved in the reinsurance of workers compensation, it is vitally important to educate all professionals in the field on how both markets are interdependent on one another.”
Supreme Court Justice Liam McKechnie served as program moderator and initiated in-depth discussions among speakers and attendees while sharing his knowledge and expertise on the legal ramifications of the system in Ireland. Both NYS Superintendent Wrynn and Senator White addressed initiatives underway in their respective jurisdictions and commented on the similarities and challenges both systems face.
Other industry speakers included, Miles J. Banks, WCP, Chief Claims Officer, Willis, Ltd; Kevin Curtis, Group Managing Director – International, Verisk Health (UK); Douglas J. Hayden, Esq., WCP, Vice President, WRM America and Mark Strang, Business Development Manager, European Sales, Insurance Services Officer (ISO).

While this was AMCOMP’s Inaugural Ireland conference, we have previously presented programs in London and are in the process of forming a London Chapter headed by Miles J. Banks of Willis, Ltd.” DeCarlo concluded by stating, “The main focus of AMCOMP is to provide the highest quality of educational programs to our members and attendees and to address current trends and issues that affect how each of us does business on a day-to-day basis.”
The American Society of Workers Comp Professionals, Inc., (AMCOMP) is a not-for-profit Corporation dedicated to professional excellence in the field of workers compensation and employers liability.
