Midwest Employers Casualty Company Appoints Tom Lentz Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

November 8, 2010 - WorkCompWire

ST. LOUIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Midwest Employers Casualty Company (MECC) today announced the appointment of Tom Lentz as vice president, chief financial officer. Mr. Lentz’s responsibilities will include management of MECC’s financial operations. He will also serve on the senior executive leadership team, contributing to the company’s overall strategic direction. The appointment is effective immediately.
MECC’s goal is to be the nation’s premier workers’ compensation excess insurance carrier. In addition to offering quality excess insurance, MECC is committed to helping self-insureds reduce their Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).

“Tom is an important addition to our executive leadership team and brings a wealth of expertise to MECC,” said Melodee Saunders, president. “He has over 25 years of experience managing financial operations in the property-casualty insurance industry, and we believe Tom will be instrumental in helping us achieve our future objectives.”

Prior to joining MECC, Mr. Lentz held CFO and senior financial executive positions with several specialty insurance organizations. He began his career in public accounting with Coopers and Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Lentz is a certified public accountant and holds both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in finance from Loyola University Maryland, formerly Loyola College.
