Argo Group US Selects Instec

October 21, 2010 - WorkCompWire

Businessowner, Commercial Package Policy, Commercial Automobile, and Workers Compensation for All 50 States in Production in Under One Year

NAPERVILLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Instec, a leading provider of rating and policy administration software for the commercial P&C insurance industry, announces the agreement with San Antonio Texas-based, Argo Group US for Instec’s rating and policy administration software, quicksolver.

As part of an enterprise initiative to consolidate multiple legacy systems, Argo Group’s Argo Select business unit selected Instec’s quicksolver software in 2009 for all its major standard commercial lines of business that require bureau content. In less than a year, production has been completed for the Businessowners, Commercial Package Policy (Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, and Crime), Commercial Automobile, and Workers Compensation product lines in all 50 states. Additionally, Argo has expanded its use of quicksolver into the newly formed Alteris organization for Workers Compensation and Commercial Auto product lines.

Richard Jolly, Vice President & CIO, Commercial Specialty said, “In a very competitive business environment, speed to market for product delivery is critical. Our Argo Select business unit needed the ability to quickly roll out new products and make changes to existing products with minimal reliance on a vendor. Quicksolver has played a key role in moving us in that direction.”

In addition to supporting the full life portfolio of rating and policy forms, quicksolver electronically transmits Argo’s transaction-level policy information to the various workers compensation data collection organizations including the NCCI and other independent data bureaus. Quicksolver has also been integrated via web services into Argo internal systems, allowing several of the Argo legacy policy systems to be retired less than a year after contracting with Instec.

“We appreciated the opportunity to be part of Argo’s consolidation and modernization effort, and the corresponding challenging time frame that Argo Group presented to us,” said Pat Walsh, Instec Vice President. “Through such an ambitious enterprise IT initiative, Argo has continued to maintain its status as a best in class insurance provider, and we are excited to be part of their team.”
