Oakland, CA – Rose Barrett of the Berkshire Hathaway Group was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI) for 2018 at the Institute’s 54th annual meeting in Oakland. Former Ohio Graphic Artist Guilty of Work Comp Fraud

Columbus, OH – A former Ohioan injured on the job in 1991 pleaded guilty to workers’ compensation fraud March 5 after investigators found him working in Colorado while collecting injured workers’ benefits from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC). John W. CWCI: California WC IMR Volume Fell Slightly In 2017, But Outcomes Held Steady

Oakland, CA – New data on the Independent Medical Review (IMR) process used to resolve California workers’ comp medical disputes show that IMR volume dipped for the first time ever in 2017, but the outcomes were unchanged as IMR physicians again upheld 91.2% of modified or denied medical service requests that they reviewed. VT Governor Scott Announces Workers’ Comp Rate Decrease for Second Consecutive Year

Montpelier, VT – Governor Phil Scott recently announced that workers’ compensation insurance rates will continue to improve for a second year in a row.
