The Carlyle Group Acquires MedRisk

New York, NY – Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) recently announced that it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in MedRisk, a King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based provider of physical medicine solutions to the workers’ compensation industry. WCRI: IL Medical Payments per Workers’ Comp Claim Grew About 3 Percent Each Year in Illinois

Cambridge, MA – Medical payments per workers’ compensation claim in Illinois grew 3.1 percent per year on average from 2012 through 2015, according to a recent study by the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI). FL Woman Convicted of Federal Workers’ Compensation Fraud

Ocala, FL – Acting United States Attorney W. Stephen Muldrow announces that a federal jury in Orlando recently found Susan J. Gissy (54, Crystal River) guilty of one count of theft of government funds and two counts of concealing a material fact in connection with the receipt of workers compensation benefits. She faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison on the theft charge, and up to five years on each of the concealment offenses.
