WorkCompRecap: Brexit Brief!

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features NCCI’s recent release of a special update to its recent Quarterly Economics Briefing report that examines the potential ramifications of the recent “Brexit” vote on the US economy and workers’ compensation.

NCCI noted that workers’ comp could potentially see (likely minor) effects in three ways, including changes in exports from the US to the UK (which could affect payrolls) and reduced investment returns (which could promote insurers to shift to riskier assets in search of yield) while an offset may be found in a continued reduced interest rates (helping bolster construction recovery, which NCCI covered in its quarterly briefing).
