TDI-DWC Developing Compound Medications Plan-Based Audit, Seeks Input

Austin, TX – The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (TDI-DWC) is seeking input on the development of a new Compound Medications Plan-Based Audit for physicians that prescribe compound drugs.

The Plan-Based Audit sets the scope, methodology, selection criteria, and program area responsibilities as laid out in the Medical Quality Review Process. A copy of the proposed Compound Medications Plan-Based Audit is available on the TDI website at

The Medical Advisor approved a Compound Medications Plan-Based Audit plan as part of the CY 2016 Medical Quality Review Annual Audit Plan, which is available on the TDI website at (PDF).

Workers’ compensation system participants can submit suggestions for this Plan-Based Audit by email to by 5:00 pm Central time on Friday, April 8, 2016.
