Timothy Lyons joins DentalWorks USA as Chief Operating Officer

Tampa, FL – DentalWorks USA, a national, dental cost-containment company serving the workers’ compensation industry has named Timothy (Tim) Lyons Chief Operating Officer. Lyons is responsible for managing the fast growing company’s day-to-day operations.

“DentalWorks has enjoyed tremendous growth and is poised for rapid expansion,” said DentalWorks USA CEO Greg Cressman. “With his considerable operational experience and business acumen, Tim is a major asset to our leadership team.”

Lyons has nearly 20 years’ experience in operations and finance, most recently as the co-founder of RFT Healthcare, LLC where he maintains an ownership interest. Previously, he spent more than 18 years with PSS World Medical, a publicly traded, Jacksonville, Florida-based medical distribution company. As PSS’ Director of Accounts Payable, he oversaw customer service, human resources and the development of innovative technologies, processes and systems. Lyons was also involved in 27 acquisitions and held operational leadership roles for the company at four different distribution centers. PSS was acquired by McKesson Corporation in 2013.

During the past two years, DentalWorks USA has hired several sales representatives, grown its clinical claims management team and expanded its client base. The company has also launched a new website with educational content and a user-friendly, secure portal to facilitate referrals. It also developed a proprietary technology that handles everything from preauthorization, clinical oversight and reimbursement validation.

“It is exciting to be part of such a fast-growing company with a strong clinical foundation and robust technology,” Lyons said. “I’m looking forward to helping our clients meet their business goals while providing adjusters and nurse case managers access to high quality and cost-effective dental care for their injured workers.”

A graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, Lyons started his career as a sales representative in home health care.
