CA DWC Announces Reduced Cost to Providers for Access to Official Disability Guidelines

San Francisco, CA – The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recently announced an introductory offer for reduced cost access to the Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) published by the Work Loss Data Institute (WLDI) for California-licensed treating medical providers providing care to California injured workers.

WLDI is offering ODG access at a one-year introductory license fee of $50 per user for new subscribers qualifying as California-licensed medical providers treating patients in the workers’ compensation system. This offer is good for any new, qualifying subscriptions placed from now through December 31.

The Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS) promulgated by the DWC provides evidence-based medical treatment guidelines for the provision of care in the California workers’ compensation system. The MTUS is based on the best available evidence and includes chapters from ODG that have been adapted for use in California. The MTUS may be found starting at section 9792.20 of title 8 of the California Code of Regulations WLDI will provide no-cost self-guided web based training in the use of ODG, as well as webinars and outreach to the medical provider community. An ODG Certification will also be available upon completion of training and successful passing of an exam demonstration proficiency in the use of ODG.
