Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features another first as Aon announces the release of the inaugural edition of their Health Care Workers’ Compensation Barometer report, which examines workers’ compensation exposures from more than 1,000 health care facilities across the country.
For 2013, Aon is projecting continuation of stability seen in loss rates since 2008, expecting them to rise by a 1 percent annual rate, and pointed to a steady decrease in claims frequency as the main stabilizing factor. Aon also noted that while frequency remains low, claim severity, including medical, indemnity and expense costs, has been steadily increasing, and is projected to continue at a rate of 2 percent per year.
