WorkCompRecap: Everything must go…

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some interesting news coming out of Florida, as Southern Eagle Insurance Company (SEIC), which was placed in receivership earlier this month, was recently ordered liquidated by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, ceasing the receivership after only 10 days. Existing policies are cancelled by the liquidation order effective January 15, and the company was previously ordered by the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) to cease writing and/or renewing policies in November.

Since the entry of the liquidation order, the Florida Workers’ Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association (FWCIGA) was activated to help pay claims for workers’ comp policies.
