WorkCompRecap: Broken Streak?

Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features an interesting announcement coming out of Colorado, as the Colorado Division of Insurance has announced that loss cost rates will increase by 3.7 percent in 2012. The 2012 increase follows an increase of 3.4 percent in 2011 after nearly a decade of decreases. Commissioner of Insurance Jim Riesberg said that while claims had remained relatively flat over the last year, medical costs continue to increase, and in order to ensure premiums remain adequate to cover future losses, the increase was warranted.
